When your travel in Canada on the Fido network, your calls will be considered local or long distance but you will not incur roaming charges.
You can use your data services anywhere you have access to the Fido network. However this will vary depending on your device’s network compatibility. Usage is deducted from your regular data bucket.
When you place or receive a call outside of your local calling area, while travelling in Canada on the Fido network, you are charged for airtime and long-distance - you are not charged for roaming because you are still on the Fido network*.
* If travelling to an area in Canada where there is no Fido coverage (such as certain areas of Yukon, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories), roaming charges will apply as you will be connected to the network of a partner wireless carrier.
Roaming in the United StatesFido covers you everywhere in the continental U.S., plus Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, at very competitive rates.
U.S. Roaming Rates
All calls made or received in the U.S. are billed on a per-minute basis.
Some calls may appear on your invoice up to 120 days after they were made.
When calling a toll-free number, airtime charges apply and long-distance charges may apply.
Local airtime and long distance continue to be free of charge for Fido customers calling Fido Customer Service while roaming.
Fido offers the most extensive international coverage available, thanks to our international roaming agreements with more than 650 operator networks in over 220 destinations around the world.
Note: If you have subscribed to Fido less than 90 days, you will be restricted when placing a call to an international number while abroad, meaning calling outside of the country you are visiting (except for calling back to Canada). If you plan to make international calls from anywhere outside North America, call 6-1-1 free of charge from your Fido phone or 1-888-481-3436 to activate international calling.
